Comprised of a series of intimate first-person vignettes, this film features 22 prominent African Americans from various professions, disciplines and backgrounds who speak directly into the camera about a number of topics--from childhood inspirations to the evolving American landscape they helped shape. This fact-based movie tells the uplifting story of a world-famous neurosurgeon who overcame boyhood challenges. Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Carson as an adult. Kimberly Elise portrays his determined mother.
